A pyramid down the road ปิรามิดใกล้บ้าน

Want to see a pyramid? No need to travel to Egypt. There is one in Blickling woods, Norfolk. You don't believe me, do you? Okay then let's me show you this picture. อยากจะเห็นปิรามิดหรือ ไม่ต้องไปไกลถึงอียิปต์ ไปที่ป่าบลิคลิงก็เห็นได้ ไม่เชื่อใช่ไหมล่ะ ถ้าอย่างนั้นก็ต้องโชว์รูปถ่ายเป็นหลักฐานแล้วล่ะ

Here we are! Even Snoopy has been to visit (as a matter of fact, several times) นี่ไงล่ะ ขนาดสนู้ปปี้ยังไปเยือนมาแล้วเลย (หลายครั้งแล้วด้วย)

It is not as impressive as those in Egypt but it intrigues everyone who happens to find it and they all ask the same question "Why on earth there is a pyramid in the midst of lush green woods of Blickling Estate?"  มันไม่น่าตะลึงเหมือนปิรามิดของอียิปต์แต่ก็น่าสนใจจนทุกคนที่ได้พบเห็นต้องถามคำถามเดียวกันว่า "ทำไมถึงมีปิรามิดในกลางป่าเขียวของบลิคลิ่ง ฮอลล์กันนะ"

It gave a kind of spooky feel to begin with but once we get used to the fact that it belongs there, I've found it is so intriguingly charming. แรกทีเดียวมันให้ความรู้สึกขนพองสยองเกล้าหน่อยๆ แต่เมื่อคุ้นเคยกับมันแล้วฉันก็รู้สึกว่ามันมีเสน่ห์น่าสนใจจริงๆด้วยล่ะ 

 

Did a bit of research and found that it's known as Mausoleum pyramid at Blickling Hall, designed by Joseph Bonomi 1796-97. The mausoleum of John Hobart, 2nd Earl of Buckinghamshire, and his two wives, Mary Anne and Caroline.
