my bright side of the moon

It is one of my favourite films. I re-watch it when I feel red. I also read the book but I much prefer the film as there is something so stylish about it -- something to do with Audrey Hepburn. Also, this film reminds me of my mum who is a big fan of Audrey. Personally, I don't think I could be friend with Holly Golightly. I don't think we will be doing very much today, the weather is quite rough as the result of the tail end of Hurricane Gonzalo. The word "hurricane" makes it sound horrifying but as it is only the remnants of it so we only have strong wind and a bit of shower. All the same, I don't want to get hit on the head by any flying object whilst walking Snoopy so we stay indoors, nice and warm by the fire. There are some photographs I took a couple days ago when I went for a walk with Snoopy. This time of the year is a good time for mushroom hunt. I have not much knowledge about mushrooms only that when I finished my university many, many years ago I was considering to do a business in mushroom farm. Well, I didn't. I LOVE the look of them as much as I like eating them (my mum used to cook a lovely dish of mushroom salad -- yum). when I was very little I used to have a lovely candle in a shape of a toadstool - red cap with some white spots on it. I kept it for ages and ages before it disappeared as things usually do with time. There is something magical about mushrooms and toadstools, the way they appear through the dead, decay leaves, out of the wet ground in the morning. Some say the little folks use them for furniture -- tables, umbrellas etc. and on the moonlit night they dance around, leave the lovely fairy ring for us to see in the morning. Well, raising a puppy is a HUGE task, especially toilet train. The dog trainer came to visit on Tuesday and while he was here everything was fine and rosy. Once he left, all the trouble came back. Snoppy's bowels seem to open more during the night than the day. Why on earth is that? My husband and I have had sleepless nights trying to toilet train him and we are absolutely exhausted. One of our neighbours mentioned that we must love our son so much to put up with all these as Snoop is his birthday present. No doubt, she was right. Looking back since Finn was little he's always been fond of dogs and animals. We'd promised him his own dog once we'd settled down and we think now is the time, we keep our promise. Finn does what he can to help out but he is only an almost 10 year old boy. Oh well, everybody says things will eventually get better and I'm living for that day. Hi Joanna Min, Thanks for the support. Glad you got the letter. Today seems like it's going to be a better day, (though it is still pitch dark outside) the rain has stopped and Snoopy has done his toilet thing outside quite successfully. I took him out to have a poo several times last night when I thought he should (according to the calculation) and eventually he did at 1 a.m. so I set the alarm at 5 o'clock and took him out at half past five. Glad to say, he's just done it. To January, It's been raining here since last night and I haven't seen the sun for a couple of days now. This morning I was listening to the Carpenters and there was this song "Rainy days and Mondays" which goes really, really well with the weather we are having (as well as today is Monday) The song has kind of stuck in my head all day and I've felt rather melancholy. I've just wanted to say that I wish we could live in the 1970's again. At half past nine I've always loved reading and sleeping and what I love best is to read at bedtime. Sadly, in this past week I have very little of those and as predicted I haven't been writing a lot either. It seems to spend most of my time when I'm not at work, dealing with Snoopy. It is very much like I've just had another baby -- another baby who was delivered by a stork through the chimney! Funny, I'd just seen a stork in the field next to our back garden on Sunday! Perhaps, it was that one. What I know is I'm going to have a visit from the dog trainer tomorrow. It is two in the morning! I am up as a toilet train routine for Snoopy as we've kind of worked out that he more or less has a poo every five hours and we figured that he would do it at half past one to be precise. Guess what, the calculation must be slightly wrong as when I came down he had already DONE it!!! OH NO! It's totally, utterly diabolical having to clean dog's poo at this time of the night. I can't find anything for miserable than this at the moment. I will set the alarm and come down again around five!
